Rata is a Pianist and songwriter, she takes pride in educating and inspiring young people in their musical journey. Rata has a great knowledge of musical theory and a wide instrumental skillset. Rata has graduated from the University of Waikato with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Music and Human Development. She has studied musical theory, composition and practical skills as well as learnt teaching techniques and academic needs of young people. Rata is currently pursuing a Diploma in Music Teaching at the New Zealand School of Music. Based in Thames/Coromandel Area, Rata provides piano and beginner guitar lessons at local schools in Thames and Whitianga area. Rata offers opportunities for her students to learn and practice music whilst preparing them for performance and theory exam opportunities. Her objective is to inspire and nurture young people's musical talents and passions.
